As promised...

You have all been oh so patient with my less than frequent posting lately, but as promised, I have another exciting update that I've been working on and it is finally ready to share with you guys!

Drum roll, please... AVP is moving to a new site! We've freshened things up a bit with a facelift, and have added some exciting new features for you to check out, including a more static website portion in addition to the blog. So come on over and check it out at and make yourself at home!

A big hug for all of your patience as I've been working on this, and thanks for following along! Be sure to update your bookmarks and readers with our new address so you stay updated. This site will still be open for viewing of old posts, but all new updates will happen over on the new site. See you over there!

My Sweet Baby Girl

My sweet baby girl,

Yes, we can call you that now! After anxiously waiting, we saw you last week at our doctor's appointment and found out that you are a girl! It made me happier than words can say to watch your daddy's face as he found out he would have a daughter...I think I saw a flash of fear, and then he quickly melted as we watched you play peek-a-boo with us on the screen. You love hiding your face with your hands already. I can hardly wait until the next time we get to see you again.

As I look down at my expanding belly, I can't help but be amazed at how fast you are growing. In fact, it probably won't be much longer until I can't see my feet when I look down. I am celebrating these many changes you are bringing though rather than be afraid of them. After a rough first couple months of this pregnancy with a few scares in there, I found myself a bit fearful that we wouldn't even make it to this point. My joy was feeling a little zapped, but God just kept gently reminding me that you are already His child, even before we get to meet you, and that I need to trust that He has a purpose and a plan for you. I came to this verse that I've been reading daily, and it has reminded me that my part in this miracle of you is really very small, and I can let go of my fear and trust that your heavenly Daddy is knitting you together perfectly according to His plan.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me
were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139: 13-16

So, my sweet girl, I am celebrating each and every day knowing that your are in the best of hands already.  I am filled with joy every time I feel you squirm around in my tummy, and I can't wait until your daddy can feel you too. We are planning for your arrival all the time, and we even spent the day shopping for you as soon as we found out you were a girl...and your daddy actually enjoyed it! We have so much fun talking about what you might look like, and what your personality is going to be like. Your daddy is hoping you'll be a Hoosier fan so you can watch the games with him...I think you may have no choice on that one. You already bring us so much joy and you are so loved. I can't wait to see your sweet face!

What's been keeping me away...

So as I mentioned to you guys recently, there have been a few things over the last couple months that have been keeping me busy and away from blogging as much as usual. Since you've been oh so patient, I figured it's time to spill the beans on what one of those things is...

We are beyond thrilled to welcome a little munchkin of our own into the world soon, and are so excited to share the news with all of you! Our hearts are overflowing :)

Keep watching for more exciting updates to come on my other project that has been in the works!

Rub a dub dub

I hope everyone is enjoying their February so far, and also this crazy nice weather for those of you in California. I am finally feeling like I am catching up with a few things now, including going through some of my personal pictures from a few months back. These adorable faces have graced the blog quite a bit lately, but I couldn't help sharing these bath time snapshots because, well, there just aren't many things cuter than lil' munchkins at bath time :)
